Are you a taxonomist, systematist, geologist, curator, educator or worker in a museum taking care of precious natural history collections?

We cordially invite you to CLADES 2017, the first ever summit/conference/workshop of Philippine natural history museums and collections this 27-28 September 2017 at the University of the Philippines Los Banos, Laguna. CLADES 2017 The summit will tackle concerns on Culture, Learning, Art, Design, Environment and Science (CLADES) in relation to natural history museums and collections in the Philippines.

The power lineup of 7 distinguished speakers is headed by National Museum of the Philippines Director Jeremy Barns and Director of the DENR-Biodiversity Management Bureau Theresa Mundita S. Lim.

Aside from providing a glimpse on the state of the art of natural history collections and museums in the country both in the national and local levels, CLADES 2017 will raise awareness on new findings by organizations which would serve as inputs to the management and operations of natural history museums.

Hence, participants are also invited to present oral papers in parallel sessions or popularized poster papers during the event. Workshops will also be conducted on several themes.

Those interested to join the Summit should visit the CLADES site at https://sites.google.com/up.edu.ph/clades. Registration and abstract submissions will be done through the site. The Secretariat will inform those who have registered whether they have been accepted as participants by 15 August 2017.

CLADES is presented by the UPLB MNH in collaboration with the UPLB administration and sponsorship of the SEAMEO-Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture, ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity, DENR-Biodiversity Management Bureau, Energy Development Corporation, Aboitiz Power Cleanergy Center, UPLB Foundation, Inc., Philippine Society for Microbiology, and the National Committee for Culture and the Arts.
