Dr. David Emmanuel M. General is the museum's curator for ants. He recently finished his PhD by Research at the University of the Philippines Los Baños. He specializes in Entomology, particularly in ant taxonomy and diversity, but also works on bumblebees and obscure arachnids. Prior to joining the Museum, Dave taught agriculture and forestry courses at the Palawan State University. He was also a research specialist/ program technician at the School of Forestry Resources at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, USA where he received his MS in Forest Resources.

Dave has authored or co-authored 16 articles published in international journals since joining the Museum in late 2013. He received the 2020 Outstanding Junior Researcher Award from University of the Philippines Los Baños.
