Museum Curators
At present, the Museum has around 30 Curators (including the Director) who have been seconded from other units of the University.
UPLB MNH curators are appointed yearly by UPLB Chancellor, upon the recommendation of the museum’s management committee, based on their respective fields of specialization. Curators’ responsibilities include the curation of museum holdings as well as the conduct of research and extension activities based on their fields of expertise. Some curators are actively and directly involved in ongoing research projects of the unit, as well as research-related activities such as expeditions and field work.
With the help of their projects, the museum’s holdings are able to increase and more discoveries and types representing new species are acquired; raising the worldwide significance and status of the UPLB MNH. Also, curators are involved in providing suggestions for knowledgeable and high-quality exhibits and displays.
Below are short profiles of some of the Museum’s curators.
