Dr. Manuel L. Castillo is MNH’s curator for Native Forest Trees. He is at present Professor 4 at the Department of Forest Biological Sciences, College of Forestry and Natural Resources, UPLB. Sir Manny finished his studies in UPLB: PhD in Forestry: Forest Biological Sciences (Forest Taxonomy-Floristics) in 2001; Master of Forestry in 1988; and BS Forestry in 1983.
Sir Manny is a much sought after lecturer and trainer on biodiversity impact assessment, environmental rehabilitation and restoration, establishment and use of permanent plots, collection and preservation of plant specimens for herbarium, dendrology and tree identification, and preparation of biodiversity management plans.
