Dr. Venus Christina J. Calilung is a Professor Emeritus at the Institute of Weed Science, Entomology and Plant Pathology of the College of Agriculture and Food Science. She received her PhD and MS in Systematic Entomology from the University of the Philippines Los Banos in 1972 and 1967, respectively. She graduated from UP Diliman with a BS degree in Zoology in 1954.
Ma’m Venus is one of the original founders of the UPLB Museum of Natural History and served as its Director from 1985 to 1992. She is the first Filipino aphidologist and she specializes in Hemiptera: Homoptera, Aphididae, Psyllidae.
