Dr. Victor S. Ticzon is a marine biologist and an expert in coral reef ecology and remote sensing. He serves as the museum’s curator for corals and fish while also heading the Animal Biology Division of the Institute of Biological Sciences where he is appointed as Associate Professor 7. He obtained his BS Biology (1994) and MS Environmental Science (2006) from UPLB while his PhD in Marine Science was granted by UP Diliman in 2014.

Sir Vic has been involved in the following national projects: Philippine National Coral Reef Database (NaCoRDa), Coral Reef Visualization and Assessment (CoRVA) Program, Capability Assessment for Rehabilitation Enhancement Capability Development and Resiliency of Ecosystems (CARE-CaDRES), Nationwide Detailed Resources Assessment Using LiDAR, and most recently, the Manila Bay Sustainable Development Master Plan, and the DENR BMB-Marine Key Biodiversity Area (MKBA) Project.

Dr. Ticzon is a member of the International Society for Reef Studies, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Philippine Association of Marine Science Inc., and Philippine Society for Developmental Biology.
