Jeremy Carlo B. Naredo, MS

Jeremy is graduate of MS Forestry: Forest Biological Sciences from the University of the Philippines Los Baños. He attained his bachelor’s degree in Agriculture major in entomology from the same university.

Since joining the museum in 2013, Jeremy pursued Acarology, the study of mites, as his specialization. He specifically studies the taxonomy of predatory soil mites from the order Mesostigmata. He has undergone specialized training in acarology under Dr. Leonila A. Corpuz-Raros and the Ohio State University Acarology Summer Program. Through collaborations, he has co-authored several publications describing new species of mites.

He is also been actively involved in updating the national red list of species with the Philippine Red List Committee for Wild Fauna, highlighted by the inclusion of more than 700 species of invertebrates. He is a member of the National Research Council of the Philippines, Philippine Association of Entomologists, Biodiversity Conservation Society of the Philippines and The Society for the Preservation of Natural History Collections.
