Interns

Jannah S. Amerol is a BS Biology major in Microbiology student at Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT). She was born and raised in Iligan City, Lanao del Norte where she completed both her primary and secondary education at St. Michael’s College and MSU-IIT Integrated Developmental School respectively. As a student, biology has always been one of the subjects that Jannah was most interested in. Fascinated by the intricacies of life, this interest in biology stayed and has become a part of her being.

When applying for college, Jannah did not have a clear goal in mind and simply chose the “practical” choice for her major in order to have the option of proceeding to either medical school or graduate school. However, as she took her subjects as a Microbiology major student, her passion for the field developed and the decision to pursue said field was established. Thus, she applied as an intern at the UPLB Museum of Natural History (MNH) to broaden her horizons.

The internship program at the UPLB MNH honed Jannah’s laboratory skills as well as her theoretical knowledge. Under the guidance of her supervisors, she also acquired new techniques that will be helpful in her education and future career. Her experience as an intern at the UPLB MNH opened new doors for her and will definitely be a significant event in her career.
