Dr. Rosalie C. Mendoza is the current College Secretary of the College of Forestry and Natural Resources, UPLB. She also works as an Associate Professor at the Department of Forest Products and Paper Science and holds a curator position at the Museum of Natural History at UPLB.

Her fields of interest include Wood Identification, Wood Anatomy, Forest Products Utilization, Non-Timber Forest Products, and Bioenergy.

She has been honored several times for the significant contributions she has made to the academic community and as a faculty at the university. Recently, she was conferred the 2020–2021 UPLB Centennial Professorial Chair Lecture Awardee. She also received the Interactive Learning Object Faculty Grant in 2018 and the CFNR Most Outstanding Teacher Award in the field of Physical Sciences in 2017.

In addition, she represented the university at the 2021 World Wood Day Virtual Symposium and the Third IUFRO Forest Products Culture Colloquium. She delivered the presentation of their research entitled “Wood Identification: A Tool For Preservation Of Indigenous Architecture Of Traditional Houses In Ifugao, Philippines,” which was a recipient of the 2019 World Wood Day Foundation Research Grant.

Moreover, she is also a member of several organizations, such as the International Association of Wood Anatomists (IAWA), and the Forest and Natural Resources Research Society of the Philippines, Inc. (FORESPI). Aside from being an outstanding professor and researcher, Dr. Mendoza is an expert in wood identification and has led numerous extension and project activities in this field across the country. She is also regularly tapped by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources to train the patrollers about wood identification.
