2nd PH Croc forum to be held in UPLB in 2019 with MNH as partner

The 2nd Forum on Crocodiles in the Philippines is slated to be held at the SEAMEO- Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) inside the University of the Philippines Los Banos campus in Laguna, Philippines on 6-8 March 2019.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of Agriculture, Crocodylus Porosus Philippines, Inc. has selected the UPLB Museum of Natural History as an academic institutional partner to ensure that the forum touches base with scientists, students, environmentalists, conservationists and other professionals.

Themed “Strengthening Partnerships in Conservation Research and Sustainable Management of Crocodiles,” the three-day forum will highlight the plight of two crocodile species – Crocodylus porosus and C. mindorensis – indigenous to the Philippines. The forum will explore possibilities for furthering crocodile conservation and sustainable management in the country. International and national experts will be gathered for this forum to provide opportunities, insights, and encouragement in addressing the challenges facing these species. The Forum’s 1st Circular which contains information on registration and submission of papers for oral and poster presentation has been recently announced.
